Academic

I am interested in stream fish ecology and conservation, and my research focus on (1) how similar fish species co-exist in their sympatric areas, (2) effects of environmental stressors on fish community structure, (3) how individual traits (e.g., behavior) affect reproductive success, (4) abiotic and biotic factors affecting metapopulation and metacommunity structure and dynamics, and (5) the potential impacts of climate and land use changes on species distribution ranges and regional biodiversity patterns and how considerations of these impacts can inform species conservation and biodiversity management strategies.
I have started my new position (assistant professor) at the Department of Biological Sciences, Kangwon National University, Chuncheon, South Korea. |
Hobby

My hobby is collecting fish in streams and taking photographs. I also post fish photographs on my personal blog to provide information of Korean native freshwater fishes to the general public. Additionally, I enjoy raising fish so that I set up aquarium tank in my house to see the behavior of fish. You can see my hobby in my BLOG.
